I purchased my first Native American Flute in the Summer of 2001. It is a small cane flute made by William Harjo. (Link to Harjo's facebook page). I have always been enraptured by the melodious sound of the Native flute and was very pleased to have one of my own.
While teaching at Holbrook Indian School, I made several Native American style flutes out of PVC pipe, and taught some of our students how to make them. Later, I made a few flutes out of wood.
My favorite native flute album is "Canyon Trilogy" by R. Carlos Nakai. My favorite selection of his is his rendition of "Amazing Grace" from the album "Emergence".

I used Bill Hughes' excellent video - volume 1 - for making this flute. The video is available from the
Oregon Flute Store.
